Requirement : Notice For Tuning Of The Existing 500 MW Thermal Power Plant Simulator For Flexibilization.
Tender description : Background:
The Government of India has set an ambitious target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil electricity generation capacity by 2030. Most of the renewable power will come from fluctuating source such as wind and sun. As per the National Electricity Plan by Government of India the solar power capacity is foreseen to increase from 67 GW as of May 2023 to 365 GW by March 2032. During hours, when this fluctuating power form renewable energy sources is being fed into the electricity grid, less conventional power generation is required. Most of the conventional power generation comes from existing coal fired power plant which have to ramp down within minutes to make room in the electricity grid when power from fluctuating renewable sources is being generated. When less renewable power is fed into the electricity grid, coal fired power plants have to increase their generation again within minutes to guarantee the power supply for the country. New skills are required to enable the operator staff of coal fired power plants to adapt to fluctuating power generation from renewables. Those skills can be obtained from special flexibility trainings on simulators. The simulator has to be capable to perform fast ramping up and down as well as stable minimum load operation.

Objectives:
i. Enable operator employees of power plants in India to adapt to fluctuating power generation from renewable energies. A simulator which is able to simulate the realistic but to great extend still unknown behaviour of commonly used 500 MW coal fired power plant shall be developed for operator under flexible conditions.

ii.Upgrade the existing Protrax based 500 MW simulator which has been developed for a thermal power station in the state of Maharashtra and tune it to make it flexible for power plant operators training.

Tasks of the assignment:
1. Modification of an existing 500 MW MAX DNA DCS simulator to a flexible simulator
2. Design and exercise MAX DNA DCS simulator trainings to thermal power station personnel in Maharashtra

Please refer to the bidding conditions and follow the instructions carefully.
