General Procurement Notice for Youth Entrepreneurship Project for Adaptation to Climate Change (simplified)
the Government of the Republic of Djibouti Has Received Donations From the African Development Fund (fad), the Ease of Support for Transition (fat), the Climate Action Window and a Loan From the International Fund for Agriculture Development (fida) Administered By the African Development Bank for the Financing of the Youth Entrepreneurship Project for Adaptation to Climate Change (pejacc).
The project's intervention area includes: (i) new watersheds located in the regions of Ali Sabieh (Holl Holl, Obeley, Doureh, Faradil, Daasbiyo, Ali-Addeh, and Guestir), Dikhil (Hanlé), Obock (Assassan and Soublali), and Tadjourah (Randa and Bankoualé); (ii) the Amitié Dam in the Arta region;
and (iii) the peri-urban area of Djibouti.
The project's development objective is to increase the productivity and production of the horticultural and goat farming value chains and create decent jobs for youth and women. The specific objectives are: (i) to strengthen the climate change adaptation capacity of horticultural and goat farming production systems in the target areas; (ii) support the development of an inclusive agribusiness that generates jobs for young people and is adapted to climate change; and (iii) strengthen the local capacities of central and decentralized structures to overcome institutional barriers to adaptation and reduce the risks associated with climate change.
