Tenders Are Invited For: Formwork Building 4a Regent Park Revitalization, Phase 4
This Request for Proposals (RFP) is an invitation by Deltera on behalf of the Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCHC) for qualified Contractors to submit Proposals for Formwork Services at Building 4A in Phase 4 of the Regent Park revitalization project as further described in Appendix B: Scope of Work.
Regent Park is located in downtown Toronto, bounded by Parliament, Gerrard, River and Shuter Streets. The revitalization project began in about 2006 and is divided into five Phases. For Phases 1, 2, and 3 of the revitalization project TCHC partnered with the Daniels Corporation, and Daniels CM acted as TCHC’s Construction Manager for the construction of new municipal services, roadways, and buildings. TCHC’s new development partner for Phases 4 and 5 is Tridel Builders Inc. (Tridel) with Tridel’s subsidiary, Deltera, acting as TCHC’s Construction Manager. The revitalization of Regent Park includes demolishing and replacing the social housing buildings constructed in the late 1940s and early 1950s, but the project is about more than just housing. New rental buildings stand side-by-side with market condominium buildings all located on a new street grid that is re-connecting the neighbourhood with the city around it. The project is transforming the neighbourhood from an area with a single landlord (TCHC) to a typical Toronto community with many different stakeholders: homeowners, people living in rental housing, new businesses and services, community groups, schools, recreation facilities, and parks. Regent Park is now a place for employment, educational opportunities, a destination for arts and culture, and recreational activities as much as it is a place to call home.
