Invitation For Investment And Cooperation In The Borteeg Section Of The Tavan Tolgoi Coal Deposit
The Borteeg section contains semi-soft coking coal resources of the Tavan Tolgoi coal deposits located in Tsogttsetsii soum (sub-province), South Gobi province (aimag).
“Erdenes Tavantolgoi” JSC hereby invites qualified investors to submit proposals for investment and cooperation to develop the Borteeg section, increase coal production and export capacity, and establish value-added processing facilities.
The following basic principles will be followed in the context of creating mutually beneficial business cooperation:
• The mining licenses held by “Erdenes Tavantolgoi” JSC shall not be transferred to the investor.
• The investor will be fully responsible for all operations and financing in relation to the construction, development, and operation of the project.
• A mining complex with a minimum capacity of 15.0 million tons per annum (Mtpa) shall be established.
• The majority of the project benefits shall accrue to the Mongolian side. The selected investor shall make an upfront payment of at least USD 500 million
