The Government of The Gambia has received financing from the African Development Fund
[ADF] hereinafter called the Bank toward the cost of the Vulnerable Youth and Women Support
Project (VYWoSP). This project is aimed at promoting livelihood and access to basic social services
for people in the rural areas, specially out of school youth and women with its intervention arears in
Upper River Region and Central River region of The Gambia.
The VYWoSP project, in its support for the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and
Technology (MoHERST), seeks to strengthen the capacity of TVET institutions to deliver quality,
market-relevant training in line with national priorities such as agro-processing, agribusiness,
renewable energy, construction, and other emerging trades.
To ensure quality and effectiveness in skills delivery, there is an urgent need to upskill and
capacitate TVET trainers with relevant technical, pedagogical, digital, and industry-based
competencies. This consultancy is commissioned to design and implement a comprehensive
capacity development programme to enhance the performance of TVET trainers and align training
delivery with labour market demands.
