Tenders Are Invited for Consulting for the Preparation of the Forestry Master Plan 2026–2056, the Five-year Investment Plan and the Transformation and Competitiveness Strategy of the Forestry Sector of Panama
The Project seeks to comprehensively structure and transform Panama's forestry sector through the formulation of the 2026–2056 Forestry Master Plan and a Five-Year Investment Plan, with the aim of strengthening the regulatory and strategic framework and institutional capacity, as well as creating enabling conditions for public and private investment. Despite the country's forestry, logistical, and biophysical potential, the sector has a low contribution to GDP, a structural trade deficit, and limitations in production planning and industrial development. The Project proposes a long-term roadmap that integrates forest management, industrialization, logistics, market access, environmental sustainability, governance, and financial structuring. The initiative is implemented through three components: (i) the Master Plan and its investment portfolio, (ii) the strengthening of the regulatory framework, and (iii) a comprehensive strategy for the competitiveness and sustainability of the Panamanian forestry sector.
