Many New Homes Are Planned to Be Built in This Part of the City and in the Adjacent Municipality of Westland in the Coming Years. It is Expected That 10,000 New Homes Will Be Added in the Hague South West Until 2040. There is Little Space and That is Why the Municipality is Working on Smart Solutions to Improve Traffic Flow. the Municipality Will Adjust the Intersections on Lozerlaan. There Will Be An Underpass at the Erasmusweg. This Way, Cars Can Drive Faster Between the Hague, the A4 Highway and the Westland. There Will Be a Green Bridge at Melis Stokelaan. Here the Exit for Cars Makes Way for a Safe Crossing for Cyclists and Pedestrians. There Will Be Traffic Lights at the Poeldijkseweg. These Adjustments Are Being Prepared Within the Port of Southwest Project. Figure 1 Shows a Global Overview of the Project Scope. the Objective of the Poort Van Zuidwest Project is to Improve the Flow of Motorized Traffic, Taking Into Account the Growth of Traffic Due to Area Development in Zuidwest and the Municipality of Westland. in Addition, the Project Must Also Contribute to the Quality of Life, Safety and Sustainable Development of the Environment. some Challenges Have Been Identified for the Preparation and Implementation of the Gate of Southwest Project: • Traffic Flow: Lozerlaan is An Important Traffic Artery and Access Point for the Hague Southwest. Long-term Blockage of Lozerlaan is Not Possible Due to a Lack of Diversion Routes.
