Requirement : As35 zurich stadelhofen system expansion, project part 30101 gu shell construction of the zurichberg, riesbach, perron tunnels and tiefenbrunnen
Tender description : Prior notice: AS35 Zurich Stadelhofen system expansion, project part 30101 GU shell construction of the Zurichberg, Riesbach, Perron tunnels, and Tiefenbrunnen. With the AS35 Zurich Stadelhofen facility expansion project, the federal government and SBB plan the expansion of Zurich Stadelhofen station with a new fourth track at Stadelhofen station and its connections towards Zurich main station, towards Stettbach, and towards Zurich Tiefenbrunnen with new single-track tunnels. The project is divided into four sections. - Section 1: overarching - Section 2: Stadelhofen station - Section 3: tunnel and cut Tiefenbrunnen - Section 4: railway technology The main shell construction works are again divided into four shell construction project parts (PTs). These will be separately tendered as follows. - PT 20101 Stadelhofen station - PT 20102 bored pile wall and anchor shaft - PT 30101 Zurichberg, Riesbach, Perron tunnel, and Tiefenbrunnen - PT 30102 2nd Hirschengrabentunnel This advance notice refers to project part 30101 from section 3 and parts of section 2 and includes the shell construction of the new Perron tunnel and the vault hall, the underground branching structure adjacent to the south with continuation over the 2nd Riesbach tunnel and 2nd Zurichberg tunnel including various ancillary structures as well as the open area in Tiefenbrunnen (pre-cut and double track up to Tiefenbrunnen station) and includes facility parts of sections 2 and 3. The works of the northern connection towards Zurich main station (2nd Hirschengrabentunnel), the Stadelhofen station area, and the associated ancillary structures will be announced or tendered separately. The new fourth track at Stadelhofen station is located in a 335 m long Perron tunnel about 40 m behind the current station in the mountain at the same level as the current shopping passage. The connection to the shopping passage is made via the so-called vault hall. The southward adjacent branching structure 2nd Riesbach tunnel extends about 180 m to the beginning of the two new single-track tunnels at the construction shaft Kreuzbuhlwiese (diameter about 20 m, depth about 33 m). The branching structure crosses the shaft Hohenbuhlstrasse (also diameter about 20 m, depth about 33 m), which will serve as a fire ventilation center in the final state. The 306 m long 2nd Zurichberg tunnel connects towards Stettbach about 200 m east of the existing emergency exit St. Antonius in a connecting structure to the existing Zurichberg tunnel. The 1,367 m long mining 2nd Riesbach tunnel leads from the branching structure towards Tiefenbrunnen. It passes under the existing Zurichberg tunnel and finally emerges next to the portal of the existing Riesbach tunnel. Adjacent to the portal structure with a day construction tunnel of about 32 m length, the pre-cut will be expanded to two tracks up to Zurich Tiefenbrunnen station, and the level crossing Seefeldstrasse will be adjusted accordingly. With a new emergency exit Neumunster (diameter 11 m, depth about 43 m) including escape and rescue tunnel from the new and existing Riesbach tunnel (total tunnel length about 170 m), the new escape tunnel St. Antonius (tunnel length about 190 m) and the adjustment and expansion of the existing facilities, safety in the new tunnels will be ensured. Further information about the project can be found on the official project website: Expansion Zurich Stadelhofen | SBB The construction of the tunnel system is machine-assisted and will be driven from the construction shaft Kreuzbuhlwiese and from the Tiefenbrunnen portal. The emergency exit shaft and the tunnel system at Neumunster will be constructed from Neumunster. A temporary material loading facility will be created at Zurich Tiefenbrunnen station. For the construction of the entire tunnel facility within project part 30101, the following approximate main quantities will be required: - Excavation (rock and loose material): 420,000 m3 solid - Concrete (in-situ concrete and shotcrete): 300,000 m3 - Reinforcement: 22,000 t - Excavation closures Nail walls: 3,800 m2 Pile walls: 4,900 m2 Ruhl walls: 3,200 m2 - Anchors: Unstressed anchors: - underground: 36,000 m - excavation: 1,400 m Stressed anchors (excavation): 15,000 m - Pipe screen: 35,000 m (pipe length) The construction start is planned for the year 2028, and there is a main construction period of about 7.5 years available for the tunnel works. A pre-construction phase before the actual construction works is taken into account. SBB is looking for a general contractor for shell construction for the construction of the shell of the tunnel as well as pre-cut, i.e., mainly for the construction services of special deep construction, civil engineering, and tunnel construction, including the transport and disposal of the excavated material. This general contractor for shell construction will be commissioned for the sole construction of the structures in shell construction, taking over all cost, schedule, and quality guarantees, excluding railway technology and equipment. The tender will be carried out in a unit price contract using the NPK catalog. In the course of the execution, planning and design will be carried out by planners commissioned by SBB. Both the tender and later the execution plans will be provided conventionally (2D planning). Through efficient and cooperative collaboration between the general contractor for shell construction tunnel, planners, and SBB, better performances and results for all three project participants are to be achieved, and the collaboration is to be project-promoting.
