Recruitment of a Consultant for the translation, simplification and adaptation into Afar language of four technical and economic reference documents into illustrated practical fact sheets.
The Republic of Djibouti has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) to cover the cost of the Djibouti Resilient Agricultural Value Chain Support Project (FAR) and intends to allocate part of this credit to make payments under the Contract for the recruitment of a Consultant for the translation, simplification and adaptation into Afar of four technical and economic reference documents into illustrated fact sheets .

Interested Consultants are hereby notified that the provisions of Section III, paragraphs 3.14, 3.16 and 3.17 of the Procurement Regulations for Borrowers under Investment Project Financing (September 2025) setting forth the World Bank's policy on conflicts of interest are applicable.
A Consultant will be selected using the “Individual Consultant” method as described in the World Bank Procurement Regulations, Version 2025, specifically Section VII. Selection of Individual Consultants.
The selection criteria are as follows:
The consultant should possess the following qualifications and experience:
Hold a university degree in agronomy, animal husbandry, rural development, translation, communication or a related field.
Proven experience in translating and simplifying technical documents.
Experience in the agricultural or rural development sector in Djibouti.
Good knowledge of the agri-food sectors and the rural and pastoral contexts of Djibouti.
Experience in designing simplified and illustrated teaching materials.
Experience in agricultural or pastoral extension.
Excellent command of French and Afar language; good writing skills and ability to simplify technical content.
